3/6 – Two Butterflies Sightings West of Cascades

Butterflies have been flying west of the Cascades in Washington…when it isn’t raining:

March 4, Jerry Austin is 90% certain that the orange butterfly he saw near Matthew’s Beach, Seattle, was a California Tortoiseshell, N. californica.

March 4, Tanna Knouse reported a California Tortoiseshell, N. californica, in Hoodsport, WA (Mason County).
