A hands-on volunteer conservation project to help make a substantial difference in our urban ecosystem

About
In collaboration with the Magnuson Environmental Stewardship Alliance and Green Seattle Partnership the Washington Butterfly Association is organizing work parties to restore and maintain the butterfly garden at Promontory Point Pavilion and the meadow in Kingfisher Basin. We welcome all who are interested in participating in making this special spot an urban oasis for many years and generations to come.

What to Bring
Dress for the day’s weather and wear long pants, long sleeved top, and closed toe shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear layers if it is chilly and if it is rainy bring rain gear. Bring a full water bottle and lunch and snacks.
What to expect
Work includes removing invasive plants like ivy and blackberries, distributing wood chip mulch or planting native plants.

Where to meet
Register with Seattle Green Partnership for details.
Registration for these events is much appreciated so an accurate headcount can be made by our team leading up to the event.
We will be taking a break to avoid disturbing nesting birds at the site.
