Hurry up and register if you haven’t yet. If you want to participate in the meals, we need your registration by June 30.
This summer’s annual conference focuses on quality meadow sites in Washington’s central cascade range and some low country habitat as well.
From a lodging perspective, Ellensburg is the community closest to our field trips and evening festivities. This is a busy time of year in Ellensburg so hotel rooms are limited. If you have not gotten a room, you should do so post haste. The Econolodge has no more discounted rooms available for WBA members.
Both Friday and Saturday evening we will meet at the Swank-Teanaway Grange, 1361 W. Ballard Hill Road, Cle Elum WA 98922. This is about a 30 minute drive from the Super 8 in Ellensburg (1500 Canyon Road) where many of us will be staying.
As we discussed in our conference edition of the G’num, because of the wet winter and spring there are road washouts, mudslides and other generally swampy conditions that our field trip leaders will be out scouting the week before the conference starts. Depending on what the field trip leaders find, field trips will either start at the Grange or at the Super 8 parking lot. Much depends on the weather and road/trail conditions, so be sure to come to the Swank-Teanaway Grange Friday evening to learn about our field trip options, sign up and get starting location instructions for the field trip(s) you wish to attend.
