MARCH 3: The president of the Eugene Oregon Chapter of NABA will speak at our meeting.
APRIL 7: “Butterfly Gardening around Puget Sound” by Claire Hagen Dole.
MAY 5: “Habitats and their Butterflies ” by Jon Pelham.
JUNE 2: With Amazonian rainforests, Andean crags and some of the world’s driest deserts, Peru is a country full of wild contrasts. Twenty percent of the world’s butterflies live here (as many as 4200 species) – more than any other country in the world. In 2002 Bill and Jeannette visited Peru – Cuzco in the highlands, Manu National Park in the Amazonian rainforest, Machu Picchu – the Incan Redoubt, and the desert coast of Nazca and Paracus. Their slides will focus on leps and other insects, but you’ll get a sense of the people, stonework, history, other critters and landscapes as well. – Bill Yake and Jeannette Baarca
